i think that the problem lays somewhere in the coaching set in the reserves and the first team we need a better head coach and reserve team manager that will inspire the players to make the step up and get then use to winning the reserve / youth trophies at that young age not just to develop them for first team, but inject the winning mentality into them also.

Our main problem has been defending as a team and not necessarily the players defending, so even if we do get the DM and CB needed, we still need someone on the pitch to organise the players, now this is where i agree with Jamie Carragher about comments he made about Mert, he does not lead the young arsenal charges or commands his team to get in a defensive shape when they do not have the ball, he does not provide a back up for his young players who are under pressure or provide guidance on how to deal with the issues in the match.
