A bunch of the family headed to the Beirut Souks for the weekly farmers market where we shopped for nuts, herbs, and ate the most delicious wraps with
zaatar for lunch.
They are also easy to make, the ingredients are relatively easy to find (you do need to go to an Arab store for Sumac and
Zaatar for example... but as I see it, that's part of the adventure!).
I've been adding avocado to salad recipes like this Spinach and Arugula Citrus Salad and smeared on toast like this Avocado Feta Toast with
Zaatar for a while, but recently I tried mixing it with tuna as a mayo replacement and for an extra nutritional protein boost.

for many of her dishes (garlic paste, tahini sauce, red pepper walnut dip, yogurt sauce,
zaatar, to name just a few).

zaatar spice given by Priya during our meet in Chennai, I tried using it as the topping
for the bread.

For the uninitiated, sumac is a dried berry used as a souring agent in Middle Eastern cuisine and is an essential ingredient in fattoush, as well as in
zaatar, baked spinach pies, and other goodies.
i too grew up eating

for breakfast and now serve it to my little boy on weekends spread on whole wheat naan that has been warmed in a hot over until soft and pliable.
