Around six months of age, most breastfeeding babies» iron and
zinc stores start to diminish and they need more than what can be provided through breast milk alone.
When your body is stressed, it depletes
your zinc stores and copper can build up (and estrogen, since they are closely related).
The pill also depletes your B vitamin and
zinc stores, so including grass fed beef, lamb, egg yolks, and oysters (you can get them canned and eat for a snack; they're pretty good) can help restore levels.
For example, getting too much copper may deplete some of
your zinc stores since these minerals counterbalance each other.
