Deep stuff for a zombie survival game, but immesnly refreshing to hear a college professor discuss games with such depth, even if he does sound a little surprised by it.

I actually really love Call of Duty: Zombies finding it to be a fun mode within each release of the game, I do however feel that it could do with a survival mode.

In the developers defense it's clear that this style of checkpoint system as intended to complement the survival - horror nature of the game by making it tougher on the player, which would have been great, except that the checkpoint doesn't make the game tougher, it just makes it more bloody infuriating when you've got to replay an entire section because your lead pipe passed through a zombie, or because of some other daft thing.

Dead alliance is a basic first person shooter with zombies elements in the gameplay for no other reason than to call it a zombie game, the survival mode contradicts itself and the multiplayer constantly has lag, you don't get a campaign even though they sell a single player expansion and at a price of # 20 / # 30 / # 35 depending how you buy it, I think it's a complete waste of your money and time, take a look around the internet to see what other think before you take my advice but quite simply put, if you're a fan of first person shooters then don't waste your time with this one.

Now onto the Single player mode or the «single player upgrade» if you've purchased the multiplayer edition, this is basically the same as a private match in multiplayer, you play one of the multiplayer selections against AI on top of that you have survival mode which was rather confusing, my idea of the game was a normal FPS game with zombies implemented so you can't camp, when you're playing the survival mode the full area has some sort of gas which will kill you if you don't get out of it, you get sent to different air pockets which open up in a set area per round, this meaning you have to camp in the air bubble and take on the hordes of zombies approaching, I've played a few zombie fps games in my days and always wanted to move around, create a train and take them out, on top of that ammo drops or weapon drops are in said bubbles and lack in quality, I wasn't impressed with the survival mode implementation and wouldn't advise any horde fans to even look at it.

It may be popular in indie right now to develop zombie survival horror games or roguelikes to compete in Steam Greenlight rankings, but this doesn't guarantee that you'll be successful.

Resident Evil 7's PT - like first - person scares are something of a departure from the main Resident Evil series, but Capcom already said they intended to bring the game back to its survival horror roots, instead of trying to make it Call of Duty with Zombies (especially since Call of Duty is doing that already).

The game does a great job setting up the sense of survival and you often feel tense as you explore the island and for good reason as zombies can often pop out of nowhere for a good jump scare to keep you on your toes.

As you never know how a game will come together this far out from release, especially for a new IP, but I honestly think this is going to be a game that will force other developers to have to stop and look at how a first - person zombie survival game should be done.

Does the gaming industry really need another zombie survival game?

Now don't get me wrong, I think State of Decay 2 looks pretty good... but 6 minutes for what is essentially a third person zombie online survival game just seemed a little overdone.

PermaDeath isn't a new mechanic in games, but it does make the gameplay of Zombi very interesting and different from most other games in the zombie survival genre.

Rarely do trailers invoke so many emotions such as this teaser trailer for Techland's upcoming zombie survival horror game, Dead...

But don't be fooled, this is no clone: Dying Light earns its name as one of the scarier zombie survival games out there as soon as the sun goes down, and also features one of the best parkour movement systems since Mirror's Edge.

With great graphics and a decent story that sometimes did have its downfalls, Dying Light is a great game for any zombie / survival loving maniac who wants to mix things up.

So I had the luck to play the new zombie survival multiplayer game, The WarZ, and with the many hours I logged into it, I did walk away with impressions of it oh yes there were LOTS of impressions.
