Rising prominently at the east end of this plain was some exemplary topiary — bushes fashioned into 30 - foot figures of the apostles (a sort of shrubbery version of St. Peter's in Rome) It was impressive, all right, but the evergreen sculpture between the next two buildings was the one I wanted to see.
