Tofu is a type of food made from soybeans. It is a white, soft and often used as a meat substitute in vegetarian or vegan dishes.
Full definition
I used cashews for the dip you see in the photos, but I've also made it
with tofu with great success.
Cut the block
of tofu in cubes, place on paper towel or better yet, a dish towel.
You can just as easily warm the strips of baked
tofu in a small skillet, or just used them at room temperature.
You can replace the cashews with firm
tofu for a vegan / non-dairy version, keep the measurements the same and it works quite well in other recipes as an alternative to cashews.
You could add
baked tofu for a little extra protein, or cucumbers, or other veggies of your choice.
This delicious marinade turns slices of
tofu into delicious oregano - garlic flavored grilled goodness.

I
added tofu as well to this recipe to act like a binding agent.
Once heated through, with some of the noodles crispy and some of them soft, serve with
tofu on top.
In a large food processor mixing bowl, add in
tofu cubes, puree until smooth, and add in 1/3 cup of lentils to puree.
You can truly
make tofu into anything you want it to be.
While vegetables are roasting, place
pressed tofu in a bowl and use two forks to crumble into small pieces (see photo).
Remove the fried
tofu from the pan and turn the heat down to low.
You can also
use tofu for protein, or just omit it all together for a noodle and vegetable dish.
They're great with tropical fruit, creamy avocado, and a sprinkling of toasted seeds, as well
as tofu for more substance and a savory element.
Heat sesame oil in a frying pan and
fry tofu until golden on both sides.
I know that's not the most appealing description, but think of it
like tofu with a more «meaty» texture.
Press
tofu slices into a paper towel to soak up some water.
Cook about 10 minutes,
until tofu cubes begin to brown lightly and crisp up, tossing a few times to ensure even cooking on all sides.
Top each slice of eggplant with 1 / 4 - inch layer of
tofu mixture.
Then
cut tofu into cubes and saute in vegetable oil.
But if you aren't already all
over tofu pudding, then I would highly recommend this recipe to you.
Place tofu pieces on a cookie sheet and bake @ 350 F for 15 min.
I can imagine this in a lettuce wrap (or spring roll) with a bit of
grilled tofu as an ideal lunch!
That said, I've never tried making
tofu ricotta, but I am very open to it.
Lightly drain
tofu blocks with paper towels, slice, set aside.
It has such a great flavor profile and I absolutely love the baked
tofu pieces!
Cut each slab of
drained tofu into 15 cubes and place them in the pan with the soy mixture.
I love
love tofu too because it is so versatile!
So yes, that means I
eat tofu noodles just as often as I eat regular pasta.
