To be sure, these nominal Christians may find excesses in the media which are too gross even for thoroughly acculturated Christians to ignore — too much sex and violence in films, too many commercials on television, too much acid rain, too many armaments — but these are seen as problems which can be adjusted, reduced, and reworked, rather than as expressions of a fundamental clash with the center of their faith.
