Gestational surrogacy is when a woman carries a baby in her womb for someone else. She is not biologically related to the baby, but instead carries an embryo created from the intended parents’ egg and sperm or from donor eggs and sperm. The surrogate mother helps someone else have a baby by carrying it for them.
