If it was a new game it would have sold tons like Splatoon but Capcom was stupid and didn't put monster hunter world on the switch because they wanted to rehash xx and milk that game and didn't want to put in money and effort for a port of world. (n4g.com)

Monster Hunter XX have over 100 monsters, while Monster Hunter world have 32 monsters its less content and less things to do in Monster Hunter world which made it easier on the casual owner look it up, Monster hunter world do not have half the content this game have and if you try the demo you can tell they took the combat from XX and made it a little more refined for MHW (n4g.com)
