1 recipe pie crust (recipe follows) 1 recipe raspberry pie filling (recipe follows) 1 egg + 1 tbsp water,
for eggwash demerara sugar, for sprinkling glaze, recipe follows
Prepare 3 shallow bowls with flour in the first,
eggwash in the second, and breadcrumbs in the third bowl.
Brush
eggwash around the outside boarder and place an equal sized piece of pastry on top.
Brush the top
with eggwash, prick 3 - 4 holes in the top of the pie, sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake for 15 minutes.
I bought ready - made flaky dough and I'm really happy with how the pasties turned out, without having to add cream, more eggs (apart from the one used
for eggwash), adding a lot of extra baking time and unhealthy fat (like other recipes suggest).
Brush the tops with
