Once you've assembled your crew, hopefully with a variety of classes that compliment one another, you set out exploring
dungeons in a first person view, slowly revealing a map square by square.
There is not a whole lot to detail about the story here because it will be hard to avoid spoilers in this case, but the game is heavily focused on the visual novel aspect where you get character
portraits in first person view and initiate a long conversation with them.
After making the rounds through Steam, Infernium, a non-linear Survival

While in first person view, you can also get a better look at your surroundings, find hidden locker keys, and signal a fight with a local street punk roaming the street.
The 3D dungeon - crawling element is probably a little different to what many people are used to nowadays for RPGs, in that you
move in first person view, and you can only move one block at a time, and turn your character 90 degrees at a time.
MechAssault is played
in the first person view, which I personally find to be a lot more enjoyable then Mech games played in the first person.
I really think it's an easy immersion win to have the camera be either
in first person view, or close to it (a la Mass Effect).
There appeared to be issues with some weapons too — the guided missile for instance requires you to control
it in a first person view (why?!)
Everything feels integrated nicely, and it plays out
in a first person view to give you the illusion it is really you calling the shots.
Playing
in first person view is very satisfying, and gives you that realistic feel, being able to see your rod and reel while you fish your bait or lure.
Watching a building collapse onto another (
in first person view) is close to the horror of 9/11.
MechAssault is played
in the first person view, which I personally find to be a lot more enjoyable then Mech games played in the first person.
Hide in it, then look down
in first person view to see a poster that reads «Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty» and has a picture of Raiden.
