Hmm, I had also thought about using nut
butter in place of the oil, this might give you a little extra «glue» and some nice flavor, yum!
Oil - Almost 1/4 cup of apple
sauce in place of oil, and topped off the measuring cup with about 1 tsp vegetable oil.
FYI: The second time I made them, I was out of coconut oil so I used one ripe medium
avocado in place of the oil and they turned out great.
I added not quite a tablespoon of pure vanilla extract and used coconut
oil in place of the oil, and it gave it a slight hint of coconut.
This recipe is forgiving so if you're out of honey feel free to use regular sugar, it also turns out well using either butter or
shortening in place of the oil.
I recommend using it as a dip for apple slices, in coffee,
in place of oil for cooking, or as a base for desserts (it's fabulous when combined with cocoa powder and a little maple syrup).
Use duck fat
in place of oil in salad dressings, sauté mushrooms or vegetables in it, and use for pan searing.
However, this time, not only did I swap out the sunbutter for almond butter, but I also decided to use melted I Can't Believe It's Not Butter ® Deliciously Simple ™
spread in place of the oil.
Maria I just made my first loaf of bread and even though it did turn out dense (as expected, I used heavy whipping
cream in place of oil), I absolutely love the taste and texture.
Another favorite trick of mine is to mash up some California Avocado with a bit of lemon juice and water, then use that
mixture in place of oil to brush the steaks with before cooking.
Then to give it that classic gingerbread flavor, I added in
molasses in place of the oil and some of the syrup, and of course, changed to spices to dial up the intensity.
I made this with my own modifications (part pumpkin
puree in place of the oil because 1 cup of oil was just not going to happen in my kitchen) and a couple flax eggs in place of the hen fruit.

I have done all those fat free cakes in the past with apple

Tahini is
used in place of oil for a more wholesome source of fat while almond flour helps give it a more traditional texture.
As far as being not too healthy, I'd say w / using whole wheat flour and the applesauce
in place of oil, they qualify on the healthy side.
:) For a substitute, we would suggest either using organic melted butter
in place of the oil or just omit the extract completely.
I did not have cooking oil so I used butter I melted it and poured
it in place of the oil and it turned out amazing!!!
