Today we'll be making some creamy Alfredo pasta mixed with bite - sized pieces of fresh asparagus, baby
portobella mushrooms and topped with thick cut slices of seared chicken in lemon pepper seasoning.
Finally, I top it all off with some sauteed organic vidalia onions and
baby portobella mushrooms, both sauteed in a little virgin coconut oil (a great source of healthy medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) and immune - boosting lauric acid) and / or a little pasture - raised butter.
Try a combination of a couple of medium - sized
portobella caps, thinly sliced, with some baby bella (aka cremini).
Enough by itself, but you could add anything else that sounds good, like
grilled Portobella mushrooms, lentils, a piece of fish or chicken, or chopped kale beneath the warm quinoa.
They're forever linked in my tastebuds thanks to my idea of what southerners eat every day, even though they probably
eat portobellas and arugula, just like the rest of us.
1 Zucchini and 1 Yellow Squash chopped, 1 Red Bell Pepper and 3/4 Green Bell Pepper, 1 large Sweet Yellow Onion with lots of dried cilantro (don't carmelize for this recipe), 2
large Portobella Mushrooms chopped.
The only thing I did differently was
replace portobella mushrooms with cremini because I couldn't find any.
Among the non-meat options will be local cheeses, roasted golden beet gazpacho, whole grain salad and a vegetarian main course of
roasted portobellas stuffed with quinoa and other farm fresh goodies (PLEASE specify «vegetarian» when purchasing tix).
And some types of mushrooms, such
as portobella mushrooms, are surprisingly good sources of Vitamin D.

One of my favorites are their
Stuffed portobellas, today with pesto, artichoke hearts, spinach, roasted red onion, garlic, and feta.
** I used white button mushrooms,
baby portobellas and even added some enoki mushrooms this year.
This colorful salad mix, served on a bed of Boston lettuce, would go well with a grilled
portobella mushroom entree or sandwich.
This is a very easy appetizer, but the filling would also work well stuffed into
some portobella caps and then cooked on an outdoor grill as a main dish.
And will adding different mushrooms (
Portobella, etc.) affect the end result?
Crimini mushrooms, otherwise known as «baby bellas» — did you know that crimini mushrooms are a younger version of
the portobellas?
Portobella mushrooms are a mature cremini.

Well, the best food sources of natural Vitamin D are egg yolks (from hens fed a healthy diet and allowed to get their own sunshine), fatty fish such as salmon and mackerel, organ meats, and some mushrooms (
some portobella mushrooms and maitake mushroom are fairly good sources of vitamin D, although the type of vitamin D in mushrooms might not be the best utilized source in your body).
Maybe I'll make
