The CR Directors must ensure that all staff members in the OA are trained how to recognize and respond to
reasonable accommodation requests in accordance with the requirements set forth in this Order.
Agency procedures should advise the employees who are designated to
receive reasonable accommodation requests to then notify, if necessary, any other agency personnel who will be involved in the decisionmaking.

A reasonable accommodation request may be submitted for other powered mobility devices used by an individual with a disability.
To enable the reporting on and evaluation of DOT's effectiveness in responding to
reasonable accommodation requests, each OA and the DRC must collect, compile, and report the information set forth in this chapter.
The DRC is not a designated decision - maker and has no authority to determine whether
a reasonable accommodation request should be granted or denied (see 3.1 USING DRC SERVICES).
If an employee gives
a reasonable accommodation request to someone other than the designated decision - maker, the recipient of such a request should refer the employee to the appropriate decision - maker within 3 business days from the date that the individual receives the request.
B. Estimated Increase in
Reasonable Accommodation Requests and Costs Attributable to the ADAAA and the Final Regulations
Agency procedures should identify offices that supervisors or other decision makers can consult for assistance in considering and implementing different types of
reasonable accommodation requests.
We counsel clients on particular issues that arise during the employment relationship, including compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act,
reasonable accommodation requests, employee performance reviews, and discipline, among others.
Medical information may include insurance forms, work comp claims, leave of absence paperwork,
reasonable accommodation requests or anything else that gives information about medical conditions or history.
A reasonable accommodation request can be made to a landlord for rental property or to a condominium or co-op board.
