Slightly off topic but any idea if we can earn miles with any carrier (obviously due to some fare class bug) while flying
on Star alliance award flight?
Can you book the now prohibited stopovers if you use singapore miles (or
other star alliance airlines) to fly on united?
The service has improved and nice to travel with them especially when I'm

star alliance awards on their partners, but they give extra availability to their own members for their own singapore flights
It's the best card cuz you can cash it out or transfer points to United, which will let you
fly star alliance flight
Now, there is a new option available for short haul flights (less than 5000 miles) in
Star alliance network.
They let you search within one week range, and they usually display
most Star Alliances flights, too.
Star alliance does not release even close to the same amount of F seats especially now that LH does not (virtually) release any seat and same goes for asia (OZ / NH / SQ) never release anything except 3 days out randomly etc...) For this reason let's edit your post and do AA @ 1.9!
Even though I am with United, tickets on non-united flights (but
still star alliance) are almost always booked with the respective companies.
And, what other foreign plans might be better to start putting our miles into other than United to
get star alliance status?
I saw another article today from Gary about Agean airlines and «lifetime»

However, they have partnership with American and United, who happen to be one world and

i think no other airline award can beat this deal, except ANA,

Air India offers Frequent flier miles for travelling with them and Air India lets you credit your miles to any of
the Star alliance members and its partners.
A lot of people complaining the last few days on the @aegeanairlines twitter account that
their star alliance miles are not credited promptly.
I will now have to travel through 6 stops on United for this round trip will most likely have horrible cabin service and all benefits of using
the star alliance stripped.
Once I've used my 8 systemwides for 2016 it's back to
star alliance for me after 10 years...

I've paid for higher fares to use
a Star alliance partner in order to up my miles or reach a certain incentive level.
Avianca is part of
the star alliance which means you can use their miles to book flights on other airlines like United and Singapore Airlines (just to name a few).
So just as an FYI, Etihad is the only 0 YQ partner to the ME that I can think of off my head... but it's not
a star alliance partner, so I don't know if booking is harder or not.
star alliance......... I have an older milege plus credit card which I think still gives me 2 miles per dollar on gas purchases.
Based on what is known so far about the new zone - based redemptions, and taking into account award taxes and fees, I value these miles slightly above ANA's
star alliance partners.

When one earns miles by flying UA or
star alliance, the cost to get those miles is significantly cheaper.
Unless you fly UA (or
any star alliance partners) a lot to rack up lot of miles on cheap tickets, Virgin America point redemption on Singapore airlines is actually quite reasonable.
