"Local elections" refer to elections that are held within a smaller area, such as a town, city, or district. These elections allow people in that specific area to vote for their local representatives, such as mayors, city council members, or county commissioners, who will make decisions that directly affect their community.

Some see
local election results as pointers for the coming national political fights, but others say they are more about council tax and bins and other services.

But there is one major difference between local and national elections:
local elections get hardly any broadcast coverage or mention online.
In cases in which boards of education are less sensitive to the needs of stakeholders, stakeholders are pushing back
through local elections.
