The key thing that makes the series different
from other shooters on the market is its loving art direction and fun, wacky characters.
Don't expect the same quality of the set pieces you're used to
in other shooters though, with the shooting mechanics fun but simply competent.
The game lacked a solo experience and the multiplayer portion of the game wasn't anywhere near as expansive as
other shooters on the market.
The story you do get however is rather predictable and is one we have seen in some shape or another in
many other shooters.
That means the emphasis is on skill and accuracy instead of powering up and avoiding
like other shooters.
Unlike other shooters I didn't mind playing the same map over and over again because the outcome is always different.
Of course there is a limit to the amount of things you can bring down from above, but it adds an extra aspect to the gameplay that isn't in
most other shooters.
Even though I did not find this game that great in comparison to
other shooter games, I did however have a decent time play it.
It will be interesting to see
what other shooter franchises pick up on features like this.
While other shooters have had specific elements we've enjoyed more than Destiny, nobody brings it all together any better.
I find myself always being asked
by other shooters to go out on the next squad and shoot with them.
The omission of the «jump» button was a very deliberate design decision, almost like a statement
against other shooters of the time.
However,
other shooters such as Call of Duty and Battlefield usually only see the player base focused around a few game modes.
I'll always enjoy this game as it really does stand out
from other shooters by doing something different.
This game has a lot of interesting things going for it that
other shooters on mobile just do not to mention the future - western theme.
As a result, the controls are more in line
with other shooters, as opposed to going against the grain with a weighted feel.
Despite a stack of technical issues, it has tense moments that I simply haven't experienced
in other shooters.
The big difference between this and
many other shooters is the slow movement, firing rate, etc..
Your basic controls such as shooting and running will remain like
most other shooters but your drag and drop inventory system receives the biggest change.
Not only does the game play look fun as hell and a far cry from most
other shooter released today, but the game almost feel made with me in mind: you killing demons, an agent of superstition, with tools made my mankind's intellect on freaking Mars.
The Crucible is fun to play, and live events give players plenty of reasons to play multiplayer, it just doesn't have the draw that keeps you coming back to the mode day in and day out like
other shooters do.
We've been blowing up walls in
other shooters for years, so watching a designated section of a wall disappear in a C4 explosion is no big whoopdeedoo, and a map - altering chemical nuke only works in one map.
I really could care less
about other shooters coming to the market this month because I enjoy MAG so much.
The original game was regarded as a particularly fun and challenging dual - sticker shooter roguelike that plays a lot different from
other shooter roguelikes, and this expanded version keeps that similar heterodoxy while adding a ton to the game.
Making the chainsaw a secondary weapon that can be easily switched to mid-fight also encouraged me to use it, unlike in most
other shooters where melee weapons remain firmly sheathed for the majority of the experience.
That might be me just getting used to faster mobility with
other shooters though as they're all so jetpack and climbing focused now.
At the end of the day, The Resistance Trilogy, as good as it may be, can not compete with the massive onslaught of
other shooter franchises that flood the Triple A market in this generation.
At first I wasn't too fond of the system, but over time I think I prefer the way Titanfall 2 handles ranking up, rather than most
other shooters today.
Some you know (Bonk's Adventure, Gates of Thunder (to which
other shooters just don't compare)-RRB-, some you probably don't (Military Madness, Soldier Blade), and some you never had the opportunity to play (Akumajou Dracula X, Chi no Rondo (Demon Castle Dracula X, Rondo of Blood)-RRB-.
Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, and
other shooters seemed to mine World War II for all of its major moments a decade ago, which is at least partially why Activision's series imagined up new conflicts to portray instead.
Since the starting lineup has just one
other shooter anyone should be worried about — George — and because Westbrook is an unreliable, perhaps unwilling cutter, the Thunder are too easy to defend in those possessions.
All said and done DOOM might is the best singleplayer FPS campaign I played this year, although clearly I missed out on a
few other shooters.
Barrel Spinner is a charge weapons that will have better range and fire rate than
other shooter weapons, while the Bucket Splosher will spread lots of ink in a line, bypassing obstacles and height differences to attack opponents.
