These have been helpful for overcoming my eating disorder, and I make them daily with my
very old blender.
Love the blender part... not sure why, just seems different from the
same old blender.
Alternately, and I've found this works best with almonds that have been processed
in older blenders, or ones that don't quite break up the almonds into nano - bits - use a large French press.
I don't have a Blend Tech so just mixed up the avocado mix in my wimpy 14
year old blender.
And if you're wondering why I tried an immersion blender... well, because immersion blenders are awesome, and are so much more fun to use than my
regular old blender (but don't tell it that... it's kind of sensitive).
My
cranky old blender wouldn't process the oats all the way with the rest of the ingredients, (the oats looked somewhere between a quick oat flake and oat flour in the batter), but it didn't matter... they still rose like little beauties.

If you make your own nut milk, and are using a 55 - year -
old blender like me, a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth will allow you to separate the nut «meats» from the «milk.»
(I use a
plain old blender and would LOVE this blendtec!!!!!!!!!!! I make it the night before and have it in my cup ready to go!
Whilst
my old blender was useful for making basic smoothies, it wasn't very efficient at grinding up anything course.
If you have
an older blender, it can be helpful to break the acai pack up into chunks beforehand.
I swear by my refurbished Blendtec for this job — I used to have to add so much liquid in
