Some may think I'm crazy for having white chairs with a toddler, but I prefer
white over a darker color because white hides crumbs better.
It is the flattening agents in the Lacquer that give it its matte sheen create a cloudy or milky effect when the Lacquer is applied too thickly and this is more
noticeable over darker colors.
it needs three coats to do it justice (and don't forget the top coat for protection), or at least two thick
coats over a dark color to really do it justice - the first coat is super thin, but if you apply it properly, it comes out great!
However, if you are looking for a more durable option that works
great over dark colors, the Stain & Finishing oil is perfect for that.

You might have noticed that both of the more durable topcoats I've mentioned so far, Finishing Cream and Tough Coat Sealer, are not recommended for use
over dark colors.
We have been meaning to paint our interior for three years now... the previous owners put up some cheap paint
over their darker colors and if you hit something up against the walls it comes off!
