It makes a wonderful dipping sauce
in place of syrup, especially when you mix a few herbs into it.
Also I used blue agave sweetener in
place of syrup which seemed to enhance the cinnamon and cardamon experience.
Boil prunes until they're soft and then puree them to make a prune paste that can be spread on toast, used in
place of syrup on pancakes or added to baked goods for flavor and moisture.
I made a lot of replacements with things I already had in my apartment - Pecans in place of walnuts, oregano in place of fresh thyme, and honey in
place of syrup - was still delicious!
Unfortunately I don't know any alternatives, but you could try adding an additional 2 tablespoons of cane sugar in
place of the syrup and increasing the cream of tartar to 1/4 teaspoon.
DIRECTIONS: To use the powder in
place of syrup or maple flavor in baking recipes, combine 5 teaspoons powder and 2 teaspoons hot water, stirring until dissolved.
