Just tried this with
precooked chicken in a Dutch oven on the stove for 10 minutes after sauces boils since I didn't have time for the crockpot way.
What makes this meal «semi-homemade» is the fact that I
bought precooked chicken, shredded it, and reheated it in a super easy sauce.
For minimal effort, one meal I like to make is pre chopped frozen broccoli florets, the harvest grains mix from Trader Joe's (just boil it on the stove — it's a mix of coucous, quinoa, etc), and
precooked chicken chopped up.
If you want to spice things up for the grown - ups, try using hot sauce in place of the tomato sauce, then adding a bit of ranch dressing and pieces

If you have a rotisserie chicken or you already have
precooked chicken in the fridge, those would be perfect for this — that will save even more time.
If you are short on time, use rotisserie chicken or
precooked chicken strips and / or bottled light sesame ginger dressing for this recipe.
If you are using
precooked chicken, omit this step and add chicken with the black beans later.
Add the remaining chicken stock, coconut milk and
precooked chicken to the pan.
