"Auto brightness" refers to a feature on electronic devices, like smartphones or computers, that automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen based on the surrounding light conditions. It ensures that the screen is neither too bright nor too dim, providing an optimal viewing experience and saving energy.

Photos and videos are eye pleasing, and outdoor viewing is better than average in
auto brightness mode.
The lack
of auto brightness was another pressure point, plus the screen even at maximum wasn't bright enough to view outdoors in sunlight.
This seems to be a problem on Android devices, we've yet to see
auto brightness work seamlessly and quickly.

If auto brightness is off, you can double tap on the always - on clock and a brightness scale will pop - up.
In fact, this whole review was done with the device
in auto brightness, and we really had no complaints here.
But at the same time, we learned that using
Auto brightness setting under bright sunlight forces the device to take the brightness to about 750 nits, more than normal.
Sensors are useful (very responsive for
Auto brightness controls) and there is a good «pocket - dial prevention mode, which prevents unnecessary touch of the screen, and that is recognized by the sensors.
On WiFi only
with auto brightness on, I was able to achieve 12 hours of screen on usage before the battery hit 5 %
On heavy use days I was able to get a little over 5 hours screen on time with
auto brightness on, but I had to charge it before the day ended to get me through the rest without cutting my usage time.
There are also other additions, such as the Samsung Pass along with the Note app from Samsung, with the button
for auto brightness found in the Quick panel.
Amazon says the Spot's
auto brightness sensor is in the same place as the camera, so you might end up with a screen that's way too bright or way too dim if you do that.

auto brightness enabled it'll automatically jump to an extra sunlight brightness setting as soon as it detects super bright light.
That is in Airplane Mode with no WiFi, with no activity or running Apps of any sort, and with
Auto Brightness Off — the same running conditions specified on the Apple website.
To switch things around, we tried Real Racing 3
using Auto brightness rather than maximum brightness; 20 minutes of play took 6 % off the battery, suggesting around five and a half hours of gaming off a full battery.

Just
select Auto Brightness in settings, and the screen brightness will remain at a comfortable level, whatever the ambient conditions.
If you've
disabled Auto Brightness, enable it again from Settings - > General - > Accessibility - > Display Accommodations.
Perhaps more important, this «display ledge» as Motorola calls it allows for a light sensor so the 360 can continue to
offer auto brightness, something no other round Android Wear watch is offering at the moment.
The main difference is the Kindle for Samsung app currently lacks the new font choices available on the regular Android app, and it doesn't have the improved table of contents support or
auto brightness either.
Because of the much lower ppi, the iPad needs better anti-aliasing OS software to further improve perceived sharpness and rendering and also

Not everything is rosy, however, what with missing basic features

The only area where the Galaxy Tab S fell short of the cream of the crop was in maximum display brightness — it did well with the ability to achieve 546 nits of brightness (with
auto brightness on), but was bested by the Windows 8 - powered Nokia Lumia 2520, which can offer up to 684 nits of brightness.
Apart from the screen there's little else to report upfront, with only the 2MP front - facing camera, thin earpiece grille and an inconspicuous set
of auto brightness and presence sensors all positioned above the screen.
Ninety percent of the time it's virtually undetectable, especially when
using auto brightness and on lower brightness settings, so it's really not as big of an issue as it would seem.
Like most recent budget Samsung smartphones, there is no ambient light sensor on the spec sheet, meaning you don't
get auto brightness.

The auto brightness tends to make the screen quite dim though so check that if the screen quality seems below par.
