become LLL Leaders is a privilege and an honor.
Having
LLL friends who have been there and lots of information has helped with that.

The latest issue of New Beginnings, a magazine for breastfeeding mothers from
LLL USA, is now available.
I suspect that the Founders didn't even consider the possibility of transgender men giving birth and breastfeeding — yet today, I'm proud that a transgender man is now an
accredited LLL Leader here in Canada.
Just after the incident occurred, I contacted my local LLL [La Leche League] representative.
Back when I went through it, I had very few people who really «got it» —
even LLL was not much comfort at that point.
We had an active
LLL chapter in town, a brick and mortar cloth diaper store 15 minutes away, and we can visit the flagship Whole Foods anytime we wanted.
In my not so spare time I'm district co-ordinator for
other LLL leaders in Yorkshire and the North East.
I will always be grateful for the support
LLL gave me over the years, and for the friends I have found through becoming a Breastfeeding Mum.
The new edition doesn't dilute the classic
LLL approach to keeping your baby close, following baby's lead, staying home with your baby or arranging a working schedule to allow maximum togetherness, discipline, toddler nursing, and weaning.

I'm so HAPPY I didn't listen to the pediatrician, but instead
called LLL, who were awesome and told me to continue breastfeeding.
For the first few years
after LLL was founded, its influence was small.
As
LLL continued to focus primarily on breastfeeding as its mission, API was able to take up Attachment Parenting as its mission.
We co-slept from birth and I quickly learnt to sleep through the night feeds, I carried her in a sling during the day and learnt to b / f on the go and most importantly thanks to the confidence gained through
LLL stopped listening to so - called health professionals who knew diddly squat about b / f / Thankfully my HV who had given such misguided «advice» in the past had since retired and my new one was ok!
I am very grateful for the support of
LLL moms because they have helped me to carry on breastfeeding without judging me, so I now feel I can trust them to support me in my battle to quit smoking.
