I've seen it at whole foods but another easy way to make it is to just mix 1 tbsp of cocoa powder with 1/4
cup sunflower seed butter.
Spread some peanut butter, almond butter or
sunflower seed butter on whole wheat bread with a jam made from 100 percent fruit.
They taste exactly like the ingredients you put in them, so if you don't
love sunflower seed butter... well, stick to the peanut butter version.
Each child can place a piece of bread with its crust on a plate and spread it with peanut butter (use
sunflower seed butter if children have peanut allergies).
However, if you don't like peanut butter or can't eat it, you could
substitute sunflower seed butter (which tastes amazingly like peanut butter) or almond butter.
I also have a recipe for nut butter based brownies that you could replace with
sunflower seed butter easily, but I have to find the link for you.
I haven't used your recipe yet, but from
experience sunflower seed butter (though delicious in traditional peanut butter cookie recipes) will turn your cookies bright green.
If you can find a natural food coloring that is brown, or something that resembles peanut butter, then you might be able to do
sunflower seed butter without even thinking about it.
My 3 year old helped too, because she will not miss an opportunity to
spread sunflower seed butter (it's a nut free class due to allergies) on bread.
