As for the more sporadic updates to the site as of late, that's entirely down to the quiet patch
of mecha game releases we are currently experiencing.
We've been craving for some good
mecha games on the Vita for a while and now a whole bunch arrive at once.
The way the mech aims and boost - jumps also reminds us of Assault Suits Valken (released in the West as Cybernator), which was certainly one of the best
mecha games released on the Super Nintendo and which inspired the Western developed Metal Warriors and the doujin game GunHound as well as the better known Front Mission: Gun Hazard (itself developed by the Assault Suits developers).
It is pretty sad that there are not many
Mecha games with this style these days.
Looking back on the decade since is almost heartbreaking,
as mecha games have taken several steps back functionally.
From Omega Boost to Virtual On Oratorio Tangram, punters had access to some of the finest
mecha games ever released.
This doesn't mean that the studio isn't
making mecha games anymore but that there are no official announcements of games to that effect.
But sadly I haven't only seen any good
New Mecha games especially that aren't Free to Play or Online - Only.

Having completed the playable demo available via Steam, here a few of my first impressions for the upcoming
indie mecha game Dual Gear.

Western mecha games either, as High Moon already proved it could be done well in this day and age, but that Front Mission Evolved was just really quite disappointing.

Modern games take a few years to make, so hopefully this year will see some more
interesting mecha game releases.
Unlike Virtual On, which was then 6 months away from a console release, Gungriffon was a very straightforward and
direct mecha game.
As a developer GameArts are known most for their work on the wondrous Grandia games as well as their input to the Silpheed series, but they've also produced a rather well wrought selection of
mecha games too.

Not a great year for
console mecha games, I was very dissapointed with how Lost Planet 2 turned out to be and now this, Front Mission Devolved has been giving me bad vibes since I've seen it, so no hope there.
It's good to see that
when mecha games finally get their own fishing minigames, the fish are scaled up to the capabilities of the mecha.
While doing a bit of research on the commercial version of Bootfighter Windom XP SP - 2, a
